Child Care Worker: Residential Program

Summary: Participate as a member of a treatment team in Walker’s residential program to meet the social, recreational, behavioral, and educational needs of children exhibiting emotional and behavioral difficulties. Plan, implement, and participate in social and recreational activities for children. Provide a safe and therapeutic milieu that meets the physical and emotional needs of children. Implement treatment protocols established by a multi-disciplinary team.  Attend to the administrative functions of child care, including attending treatment meetings, writing reports, and actively participating in supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker.

Positions available at a variety of professional levels; Flexible shifts are available; compensation is commensurate with related experience and education.

Requirements:  associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Child Care Worker: Day School Program

Summary:  Act as a member of treatment team in a school program for children with serious emotional and behavioral difficulties.  Focus on social, recreational, and behavioral needs of children.  Participate on a wake-up team in the residential program and ensure that medications are administered, routines are completed, and students arrive to school on time.  Participate in a daytime residential group during the school vacation periods, including planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and programming for the group and campus wide.  Properly attend to administrative functions of childcare, including attending required meetings; completing assigned oral and written report writing tasks; and actively participating in supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker.

Requirements: Associate’s Degree required; excellent written and verbal communication skills; successful completion of Walker’s provisional child care evaluation.

Special Education Teacher

Summary:  Teach a self-contained classroom of up to 10 elementary-school-aged children with serious emotional, learning, and behavioral challenges.  Supervise assistant teachers and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including clinical and residential staff.  Develop and implement academic, social, and behavioral curricula. Assess student needs and develop IEPs. 

Requirements:  MA License in Teaching Children with Moderate Special Needs, K-8.  Master’s Degree and related experience preferred.

Assistant Teacher

Summary:  Team teach with a lead teacher in a self-contained classroom of eight to ten children with emotional, learning, and behavioral disabilities; Provide educational services as directed by the lead teacher and the educational leadership team.

Speech and Language Pathologist

Summary:  Provide direct therapy services to students with language development impairments.  Consult to teachers and multi-disciplinary staff, parents, and professionals.  Perform assessments and diagnostic services.

Administration

Senior Manager of Communications

Summary:  Oversee all internal and external agency communications, including producing and managing content related to marketing and fundraising for all Walker programs.  Serve as the Webmaster for Walker’s website.

Requirements:  Bachelors’ Degree in Communication or related field; Formal education in marketing or Business Administration preferred.  Minimum of five years experience writing for print and electronic publication with previous editorial responsibility for official communications.  Demonstrated previous success with social media, online, and mobile marketing strategies.  Experience with Drupal or other content management system.  Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, or other publishing programs.

Therapeutic Intervention Specialist-Framingham

Summary: The Therapeutic Intervention Specialist implements student behavioral plans, monitors the students progress, works with the school base team of professionals who oversee the students plan, assists with student evaluation, revising and updating the behavioral plan.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
Special Education license preferred; At least two years with children in a therapeutic milieu, direct behavioral support to school personnel, and knowledge and capability of crisis intervention. Experience working with parents preferred.
