Parents' Page
At Walker School, we are committed to providing help and support to the families of our students. We offer resources and information that parents and guardians may find useful as they seek to offer their chidren academic and therapeutic guidance, along with new and interesting experiences outside the classroom.
Walker Parents’ Council
The Walker Parents’ Council provides an opportunity for families to connect with each other and with Walker staff, to offer input on program policies, to learn about school events and curriculum, and to attend discussions with guest speakers about relevant topics. Meetings are held during the school year, and are open to all parents, guardians, and family members of Walker students.
The Parents’ Council also coordinates activities in support of Walker programs, including staff appreciation events, school pictures, a science fair, national reading week, and several school festivals. The Parents’ Council is co-chaired by a current student’s family member, and a Parent Council representative also serves as a voting member on the Walker Board of Directors. The council is assisted by the principal of the Walker School and the Walker parent liaison.
